IGNITE and Pangaea
What: Two cultural shows in which MVSA will perform in. One will be a skit/interpretation of the Vietnamese song and one will be a traditional dance.
If you’re interested in learning about Vietnamese heritage and would like to join fellow members in this group performance send us a reply. We’d love to have you!
When and Where: Location and times for practice and rehearsal will be determined in a short while.
VAT Scholarships
What: The Vietnamese Association of Toronto has 2010 Vietnamese Student Scholarship Awards that students can apply to.
The scholarships are based on various areas of academic excellence (e.g. GPA, community involvement, awards etc.). Each award is worth $1000. It is an opportunity to be recognized in our community at this years’ Tet Festival and in popular Toronto Vietnamese magazines. Taking time to complete the applications is definitely worth while! There are a number of awards to be given out this year.
The deadline for application submission is December 10, 2010. Applications can be emailed to Trung Nguyen at tnguyen@btzlaw.ca

Annual UVSA’s Blue Mountain Weekend
When: Friday, January 7, 2011 at 4:00pm – Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 4:00pm
Where: Blue Mountain Ski Resort

Cost: EARLY BIRD $195, REGULAR $210 on a per person basis
PAYMENT DEADLINE:
In order to qualify as Early Bird, full payment of $195 must be received by UVSA by midnight of November 1st, 2010.
As of November 2nd, 2010, cost of trip will automatically be $210.
ALL REMAINING PAYMENTS & GUEST INFO MUST BE RECEIVED BY NOVEMBER 30TH, 2010.

- accommodations at Chateau Ridge (6 per condo): at the base of happy valley — ski in/ski out type of lodges (tres cool, no more waiting for shuttle bus!)
- all day lift tickets for friday + saturday + sunday

Condos fit a maximum of 6 people this year. Please email me the full names of everyone who is staying in each condo — also appointing someone as a suite-master.

- At check in, each suite-master will be required to give a $500 damage Deposit via cash, certified cheque, or credit card. Deposit will be returned if there is no damage.

Well it’s that time of year again,
The winter season is coming, Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to start off the season then to go ice skating with the VSAY family! The Vietnamese Student Association at York would like to invite everyone out to our third annual VSAY On Ice event! Come join VSAY as we take over the whole ice rink for a night of fun! Enjoy some great tunes, awesome company and become part of… VSAY’s memories. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or professional level skater, come out and show off your skills! After, we’ll be warming up our toes as we head over to Apple Jacks Grill/Bar, grab a bite to eat, drink some hot chocolate and enjoy each others company.
